Tonaus is a 20 year verteran in property management and has lead teams managing over 5000 multifamily units of which 97% were performing at their budgeted NOI and occupancy. Tonaus is a pragmantic operational leader and is passionate about fostering a fulfilling work environment for Carbon employees where they can achieve their personal and professional grows. Tonaus sits on the board of the National Apartment Association and is affiliated with the Institute of Real Estate Management. He's a Certified Property Manager, Accredited Residential Manager, and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor and has an MBA from Louisiana State University.
Cody is an entrepreneur and investor with approximately a decade of experience founding, growing, operating, and leading various types of companies and real estate projects. In 2013, he founded Codelitt, a software service firm, and grew it to approximately 75 employees worldwide. Cody started in real estate from the ground up from swinging hammers and collecting rents to asset management to building a real estate private equity firm.
Michael has 13 years of aggregate professional experience in financial services and real estate.
Michael worked in financial consulting, primarily assisting clients with advisory services related to distressed or illiquid investments (his former clients include: Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, and Koch Industries). He also previously was at JPMorgan within the investment management department constructing fixed income portfolios for institutions and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals within the JP Private Bank. From 2010 to 2011, he worked at Merrill Lynch within the wealth management department advising mostly affluent and high-net-worth (HNW) clients on portfolio contraction and retirement planning. Michael is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2014 and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIS) since 2016, and he earned a B.S. of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University, Questrom School of Business.
